To add a new site go to the Site menu and select New... this will run the new site profile wizard.
To change settings for an existing site select the site in the main window then go to the Site menu and select Edit... or double click on the site in the main window.
The site profile settings are divided into sections. Each section is on a seperate setting tab. The setting tabs are divded into;
These options will display the site settings screen as follows. For existing sites the information for the site will be filled in.
This tab contains the basic information for a site as follows:
Enter a unique, descriptive name for the site. This name will be shown in the main window and as the title in reports generated for this site.
This information is used by some report generators to limit the information collected. If this is blank then the report will not be filtered.
For web server reports this is the name of a specific web site on the web server. The url can include sub directories within a site (e.g. acme.com/products). This allows different web sites on a web server to be reported on separately. This setting is also used in web server reports to filter site referal information.
For mail reports this is the name of a domain (e.g. acme.com) on which to report. This allows separate reports for mail servers supporting multiple domains
Select the type of log which will provide the report data. The currently supported log types are:
If you have purchased a WinRoute or IMS specific version of WebReporter then only log types specific to those products will be available.
This tab contains information about the source of the report information
Enter the location of the log file(s) to be used to generate the reports. You can use wildcard characters if there are multiple files to be read. This path is relative to the computer on which the WebReporter server is running. To access logs on another Windows computer on the same network you can enter a UNC path in the form \\ComputerName\ShareName\...
Check this option if you always want the report to include all information in the log. If this option is not checked then a date range must be entered.
This tab contains information about the report to be generated
Enter the full path name of the output report file (e.g. c:\reports\report.htm). The report path name should be relative to the WebReporter server machine.
A report URL may be specified for reports that will be available from a web server i.e. the report path is web server directory. When this setting is specified the WebReporter context menu "View Report" may be used to launch a local web browser to view the report.
The style of report that will be generated. The options are:
Check this option to include graphs and charts in the report.
NOTE: The chart images will be generated in a sub folder of the folder you specified in the Report Path option. The sub folder name will be the name of the file without the extension (e.g. if you specified c:\reports\myreport.htm then the images would be placed in c:\reports\myreport).
This setting may be specified for HTML reports to automatically refresh browser report views to keep the report views current.
Enable Email report to send a copy of the generated report to the specified email address. This option used the Microsoft STMP email server, which must be correctly configured and operational for this option to work correctly.
This tab allows you to control how often reports are generated for a site.
Check this option to have WebReporter generate reports at regular intervals. If this option is not checked then reports will not be generated unless you select the Report / Generate report option from the WebReporter menu.
Select an option to control how often reports are generated. The available options are:
The time of day at which to start generating reports.
Some log types support address filtering. The Filter tab will only be available when one of those log types are selected. Enter an address then select Add to add a filter. Select an item from the list and select Del to remove a filter.
Enter an internet address, partial internet address or IP addresses to be excluded.
Select this to include the web site in summary information but not in lists of sites.
Additional user and department information may be defined for a site profile through the Alias manager.
