To run WebReporter, select the WebReporter application from the Windows Start menu, or select webreporter.exe from the program directory (the directory where the WebReporter application is installed).
The WebReporter main window shows a list of the sites profiles configured for a WebReporter server and the status of reports being generated for those sites. You must be connected to a WebReporter server to see this information. See Connecting to a web reporter server.
You can double-click the left mouse button on the first column to go to the settings for a site.
The list of site profiles shows the following information for each site:
The name of the site profile as entered in the settings screen or when the new site profile wizard is run.
The meaning of this column depends on the type of site. For a site that reports on a web site it would be the last time the web site was accessed.
The last time the WebReporter server started generating a report for this site
The meaning of this column depends on the type of site. For a site that reports on a web site it would be the number of times the web site was accessed today.
The status of the current report for the site. This column shows the progress of reporting and indicates if any errors are encountered.
This column shows how often reports will be generated for this site as selected in the settings screen.
By right clicking on a listed site a short context menu will be display. The context menu will allow you to view either a interactive summary report or to view the last report generated. The view last report option is only available if a report URL is specified in the site profile settings. WebReporter used the report URL to open a browser view of the report.
Nearly everything you do within the program starts with the profiles listed in the main window of the WebReporter application window. For example, if you want to run a report on your web server, you first create a profile for your web server. See the quick report setup guide for creating a new profile.
